Haflagah
Haflagah is based on the interval from the beginning of one Re'iyah to the beginning of the next. Once an interval exists, the next relevant date can be anticipated using the same distance according to the applicable rules.
What is the interval?
In a common counting method, the interval is counted from the beginning of one Re'iyah to the beginning of the next, with the starting day included. The next date is calculated from the most recent Re'iyah using that interval.
Which Onah applies?
The anticipated Onah is related to the Onah in which the most recent Re'iyah began, according to the applicable rules.
Why does history matter?
Haflagah is based on the relationship between events rather than on one date alone. Accurate history is therefore important. Under some supported settings, earlier Haflagot may remain relevant until they are no longer applicable under the rules.
