What does the calendar manage?
A Taharah calendar is based on facts entered by the user and dates derived from those facts. According to the information provided and the supported Minhag profile selected, it can display Taharah stages, Hefsek Taharah, Shivah Nekiyim, Leil Tevilah, Onah Beinonit, Veset Hachodesh, Haflagot and other supported Onot Perishah.
Why is a civil date not enough?
Many calculations depend on the Hebrew date and Halachic Onah. Daytime and nighttime Onot are defined in relation to sunrise and sunset, so location and time zone can be relevant to the calculation.
What does TaharaSmart add?
TaharaSmart keeps the history of facts you entered, recalculates relevant dates, presents them on the calendar and lets you choose Email or SMS reminders before selected dates. If information is missing or no automatic rule applies, the system does not invent an answer and instead indicates that clarification is required.
Does a digital calendar replace Halachic guidance?
No. It reduces the technical work of recording, calculating and remembering. Individual Halachic questions, exceptional situations or uncertainty should be discussed with a Rav or Halachic authority.
