Veset Hachodesh

Veset Hachodesh is an Onat Perishah based on the date of the Hebrew month on which the Re'iyah began and the Onah in which it began.

How is the date determined?

If a Re'iyah begins on a particular Hebrew date during a daytime or nighttime Onah, the next Veset Hachodesh relates to that date in the following Hebrew month and to the same Onah, according to the applicable rules.

What if that Hebrew date does not exist next month?

Hebrew months do not all have the same length. When a Re'iyah occurred on day 30 and the following month has no day 30, Halachic approaches differ. Possibilities include the first day after the missing month, no Veset Hachodesh for that cycle, or day 29. The applicable choice depends on Minhag and settings.
